● 韓国修養父母協会KFCAについて
KFCA is a not-for-profit community organization which was launched in 1998 to provide foster care for children who are abandoned or are not able to live with their families. In 1999, the Association became a legal corporate body by the Ministry of Health and Welfare of Korea. The Association seeks trains and supports foster careers, provides respite, short-term care, and medical care to foster children.
The Association also aims to raise awareness among the general public of the benefits of foster care. So far, the Association’s efforts in awareness-raising have been successful, particularly among government agencies and lawmakers. To continue its momentum, KFCA is keen on studying the experiences of agencies involved in foster care in other countries. Existing successful practices can then be adapted to suit Korean society. The end result of the Association’s activities will contribute to the implementation of the United Nations’ Convention on the Rights of the Child, which is being implemented in Korean society.

Today, there are
thousands of vulnerable and needy children in
韓国里子養育父母協会は1998年に設立された、非営利の地域組織である。その目的は、見捨てられたり実の家族と住むことができない子どもに、里子養育を用意することである。この会は1999年、韓国厚生省によって、公益法人に認可された。この会は、里子養育者に対する研修と支援を行い、里子に対してレスパイト（休息）と短期のケアと医療を用意する。
この会は、一般大衆への里子養育の利点の周知も図る。これまでのところ、この周知活動、特に役所と政治家に対するものは、大変成功している。
この勢いを保つため、韓国里子養育父母協会は外国における里子養育関係機関の経験を学ぶことに努めている。多くの成功実践活動事例は、韓国社会に応用できる。この会の活動の最終的な目標は、国連児童権利会議の理念の韓国社会における実践である。
現在アジアには、実親と地域社会から見捨てられた、非常に多くの傷つきやすく貧しい子どもたちがいる。今こそ、危機の原因を究明するだけではなく、各組織が情報を共有し、子どもが、児童権利会議で示された、市民としての権利を守るためのネットワークを構築するときである。子どもを支援し、「生存と保護と発達と参加」という子どもの基本的人権を回復できるよう支援するために、ともに行動することは、私たちの義務である。

訳注
これは、KFCA の日程（案）を訳したものである。
Korean foster Care Association は、韓国の里親制度研究者、児童福祉関係職員、里子養育者（里親）等が会員になり、韓国政府から公認と財政的支援を受けている非営利法人である。里親だけからなる日本の全国里親会 Japan Foster Parents Association (JFPA) とは性格が異なる。
韓国語の元々の漢字名は、韓国修養父母協会であるが、「修養」とは里子養育のことで、「入養」（養子縁組）に対する用語である。
里親制度先進国である欧米、豪州におけるFoster Care Association は、里親制度研究者、児童福祉関係職員、里子養育者（里親）等が会員になって、里子に対する養護を円滑に進めるための会で、「里子養育協会」と訳すのが適当と思われる。韓国のKFCAはこの方式にならっているもののようである。
ただし、KFCAの韓国名の「韓国修養父母協会」だけをみると、里親だけによる会であるかのように感じられるが、実際には日本の全国里親会よりも欧米型の組織に近い。
